ARE OUR ROMANTIC DREAMS GONE FOR EVER?

Let's take a look at a modern "romance" lived by a man and a woman who met just out of teenage years, working part time jobs while studying at university,

They graduated, travelled overseas and started their careers.

Having done that, the want to take a step up in their relationship took over, and the "need" for an emotional commitment translated into the white wedding in a garden with the blessing of the divine, families and friends.

Soon after they set a date, bought a house in an up-and-coming area, and committed to a 25-year mortgage, creating the perceived perfect environment to start a life together and raise children.

In a not so distant past, this would have been enough to seal the beginning and end of the story. The couple would have had a pretty good chance to grow old together, become grandparents, enjoy some Sundays and public holidays with their progenies, take a cruise or a tour abroad after retirement, and get to the finish line under the same roof.

New research states that about a third to a quarter of today's young people will never experience such a romance.

A historical reconciliation between equals is taking place, the rise of women is a done deal. Not even a cataclysm of cosmic proportions can change it and return women to property status.

Add to this the pursuit of professional and personal goals and the ever-increasing stress of time management as we jump from one Monday to the next, and surely it should all lead to us wanting to find ourselves before finding someone else.

Love is a precious gift at any age! When you fall in love the age doesn't make any difference. The 50 old man/ woman can feel they are in their teens. However,
